ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING

to recap: the window opened and you got this message

so 1st double check your microphone is plugged in. then open sound settings by going to the bottom right of the screen and right clicking on the speaker icon. then clicking "open sound settings".

see if your microphone is showing up under:

"choose your input device"

if it says "no input devices found"

then your microphone is not connected to your pc.

try changing the slot it's plugged into and try the device in other computers if it still fails to show up.

if the device is present under: "choose input device" check that the blue bar under "test your microphone" moves when sound is present.

if this is the case, open the location of downloaded file and double click twice to run trial.exe again.

if you still get no microphone detected then this is because my program can't find your device. this is mostly because it isn't listed as a microphone. to fix this do the following

search "Manage audio devices" in the search bar in the bottom left of your screen. click to open the window shown to the right.

by default it loads on the playback tab. you need to click on the recording tab

Select the device you wish to use with mic light

Click properties

That should open a window similar to the one on the right

so where it says the name of this device change it to "Microphone"

Click ok on this window, then ok again on the other window.

open the location of downloaded file and double click twice to run trial.exe again.
