Advanced Trouble Shooting

1st double check your microphone is plugged in.

 

Then open sound settings by going to the bottom right of the screen and right clicking on the speaker icon. then clicking "open sound settings".

See if your microphone is showing up under:

"choose your input device"

If it says "no input devices found"

then your microphone is not connected to your pc.

 

Try changing the slot it's plugged into and try the device in other computers if it still fails to show up in this menu.

If the device is present under: "choose input device" check that the blue bar under "test your microphone" moves when sound is present.​

​​​If the Connected Mic light doesn't light up still after a little wait check that the program is running.​ Press Ctrl Alt Delete and open "task manager"

Go to the processes tab. Sort by name by clicking name (top left) then scroll down through background processes and see if there's a program called:     "phrase check.exe"

 If you can find this program continue to next stage if it isn't click installation instructions.

So at this stage: the program is running, the Mic Light is connected, the microphone shows up in sound settings, and the blue bar under it is moving.

​​If you still get no microphone detected then this is because my program can't find your device. this is mostly because it isn't listed as a microphone. to fix this do the following.

​Search "Manage audio devices" in the search bar in the bottom left of your screen. click to open the window shown to the right. ​

By default it loads on the playback tab. You need to click on the recording tab

​

Select the device you wish to use with the Mic Light

​

Click properties

​

​​That should open a window similar to the one on the right. 

​

So where it says the name of this device change it to "Microphone"

​

Click ok on this window, then ok again on the other window.

​

Open the location of downloaded file and double click twice to run trial.exe again.​
